·        Access to the fashion shows scheduled for the 46th Portugal Fashion, between 12 and 14 March at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre and Casa da Arquitetura (Matosinhos), will be restricted to the backstage team, the event’s technical staff and duly accredited Portuguese media professionals and digital influencers.

·        The total number of journalists, photojournalists and digital influencers is expected to be around 150/170 people.

·        Access to the fashion shows, whether by fashion professionals, journalists or influencers, will depend on a prior case-by-case assessment to avoid the presence of people belonging to groups with a higher risk of infection or complications from the new coronavirus.

 ·        BRAND UP – a showroom open to the public where design, fashion and lifestyle products are sold – will be cancelled, as will all the other parallel promotional activities.

·        The presentation of the international model, Luís Borges, will also be cancelled, as its format would involve a party and, therefore, gathering a lot of people in a smaller space.

·        The presentation by designer Júlio Torcato, “A Orquestra Urbana da Trofa”, consisting of 90 amateur musicians of different ages, will also be rescheduled.

Portugal Fashion is committed to national efforts to contain the spread of the new coronavirus and will continue to follow the recommendations of the Directorate General of Health in this regard. Nonetheless it is also our duty to protect the commercial and professional interests of the designers and brands and to ensure that the fashion shows included in the international fashion circuit are held.

To this end, all the fashion shows will be live streamed and Portugal Fashion will ensure the technical resources needed for this. This means the designers and brands will have the opportunity to publicise their work through the communication channels made available by Portugal Fashion, particularly in its digital platforms. And of course the attending journalists will also be reporting on the fashion shows.

Portugal Fashion would like to take this opportunity to ask the institutions, companies, brands, professionals and sponsors involved in this 46th event for their understanding and undertakes to help all of these bodies and people minimise the effects of the restriction of access to the fashion shows.

We would also like to apologise to our guests and the public in general for not being able to allow them attend the fashion shows. Finally, and above all, it is a civic duty that Portugal Fashion takes very seriously.
