1.    Portugal Fashion is working with the health authorities in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the event.

2.    As its fashion shows are normally attended by several hundred people, in the same place and at the same time, Portugal Fashion will be following the guidelines from the Directorate General of Health (DGS) to the letter in terms of the organisation of public or mass events. To this end, a contingency plan is being prepared which, as recommended by the DGS, includes the diagnosis and referral of suspected cases of COVID-19 during the event, in conjunction with local and public health services.

3.    Portugal Fashion undertakes to provide appropriate equipment and/or facilities for adopting good hygiene practices, regularly cleaning surfaces that could become infected and reinforcing recommendations on keep hands clean and how to prevent the spread of germs, guaranteeing a supply of surgical masks for anybody showing up with fever or respiratory symptoms, among other preventive measures. All of this will be carried out in close cooperation with the health authorities.

4.    We will also be advising our guests and the technical staff at Portugal Fashion not to come to the event if they are sick of if they have been in contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases or in a sustained community transmission area in the 14 days prior to the date of the fashion shows.    

5.    To minimise the potential spread of COVID-19 at an event attended by people from all over the world (whether the audience or the technical staff), Portugal Fashion, in total agreement with total agreement with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, has decided to implement a set of preventive measures. We therefore regret to inform you that the fashion show by Italian designer Gilberto Calzolari has been cancelled, as this young designer and his production team are from an area with sustained community transmission of COVID-19. The fashion show is scheduled to take place in the 47 edition of Portugal Fashion, in October 2020.

6.    Portugal Fashion does not anticipate taking any further measures the regular operation of the event. However, in the event of an increase in the number of people in Portugal infected by COVID-19, and if the health authorities recommend this, Portugal Fashion may restrict access to the fashion shows or even decide to hold them behind closed doors, assuring that they will be broadcast online.
