Portugal Fashion reinforces partnership with TVI
TVI was the official television station of the 42nd Portugal Fashion Fall-Winter 2018-19, and reports of this edition of the event are being broadcasted on both its general channel and its information channel: TVI24. For the second time in a row, the Queluz TV station partnere with Portugal Fashion, and has become the sole broadcaster for its fashion shows.

This partnership with Portugal Fashion involvesd the production and broadcast of four 3-minute shows on TVI’s general channel and eight 3-minute shows, four 15-minute programmes and two 30-minute programme on TVI24. A live online broadcast of fashion shows was also planned using a special dedicated channel on TVI Player; all contents related to the 42nd edition of the event are also being hosted and available in this platform.

The 42nd Portugal Fashion shows can then be watched by thousands of viewers on TVI’s channels in March and April. It should be noted that 30-minute special programmes on TVI24 are featuring not only fashion shows but also preparations for Portugal Fashion, backstage bustle, interviews with key players, side events, among others.

It is worth mentioning that the programme content was produced under the responsibility of the Portugal Fashion organisation, but according to guidelines from TVI. Besides, the programme was presented by Ruben Rua, a former fashion model and who is very acquainted with the fashion world.

"We were pleased and motivated for having TVI, the country’s most watched station, as Portugal Fashion’s official TV station”, stressed Rafael Alves Rocha "I believe that this has been an excellent partnership for both parties: on one hand TVI had exclusivity to broadcast an event of undeniable public interest, featuring economic relevance and repute in the fashion industry; on the other hand, Portugal Fashion worked with an audience-share leader TV station with all the benefits that this brings along as regards media exposure”.

Televisão Independente (TVI) is the fourth general TV channel and the second privately-owned channel. It started broadcasting on a regular basis in October 1993 and one year later, thanks to its own transmission network, it covered the whole of the Portuguese territory. In 2005, it took the lead in terms of TV audience share in Portugal, and it was able to maintain that leadership position for the 12th year running.

Broadcasts of TVI's first cable channel started in February 2009. TVI24, the third Portuguese TV news channel, was then born. Currently, TVI24 is fighting for prime-time leadership among news cable channels.
