Susana Bettencourt and David Catalán selected to special edition of the OpenMyMed prize
Susana Bettencourt won the contest's 7th edition, in 2017, and David Catalán won the 5th edition, in 2015. Both were now selected for this year's special edition, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of Maison Méditerranéenne dês Métiers de la Mode.

The new edition of the OpenMyMed award happens between June 26th and 29th, aiming to "value the new wave of mediterranic designers", by joining the contest's previous winners since 2010, in a total of 30 young designers selected by the board of Maison Méditerranéenne dês Métiers de la Mode.

The OpenMyMed award has the mission of "supporting young winners in three fundamental areas for estabilishing their own brands: stategy, communication and commercialization" and exists since 2010. The winners are selected by a jury of several fashion professionals.

Susana Bettencourt is one of the main references in Portuguese fashion and is part of Portugal Fashion's main calendar, where she presents her collections every season since 2011. The designer lived more than ten years in London, where she graduated in Fashion Design with specialisation in Knitwear, from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, and she has completed with distinction the master’s degree in Digital Fashion of London College of Fashion.

David Catalán is one the most promissing emerging Portuguese designers. He began his path in Portugal Fashion in 2016, having been one of the winners of the Bloom Contest - platform dedicated to support and promote young fashion designers - and, since 2018, is part of the event's main calendar, where he presents this collections. His academic formation includes La Rioja Design School and the Higher Institute of Art and Design in Matosinhos, in Porto.
