Bloom In returns for the fall/winter edition
Bloom In returns for the fall/winter edition
Along with the FW18-19 collections by Portugal Fashion’s young talents, the Bloom In newspapper returns with its third publication. In the same day where the city of fashion came to life, at Porto’s city park, Bloom In brought with itself new bloomers, new collections and eight new talents that shined in the alternative catwalk of the Bloom Contest.

The edition might be new, but the celebration remains the same: fashion as a radical expression of design and performance. Bloom’s catwalk received six young designers (Beatriz Bettencourt, Daniela Pereira, Joana Braga, Nycole, Olimpia Davide and Sara*Maia) and one label (0.9 Vírus), with innovative approaches in concepts, lines, materials and tex¬tures. Thus, Bloom was once again a land of creativity and innovation, of experimentation and risk, of daring and rebellion, which Bloom In reflects perfectly.

Even before the Bloomers, eight other promising talents pre¬sented their first fashion projects. These were the finalists of the Bloom Competition, being Mara Flora and Maria Meira the winners, a victory given to the designers of the two best coordinates at the event. This is how Portugal Fashion discovers new talents and contributes to the generational renovation of Portuguese fashion.

Proof of this comes in the form of two former Bloomers, Inês Torcato and David Catalán, that moved on to the main catwalk at this 42nd Portugal Fashion, following in the footsteps of designers such as Carla Pontes, Estelita Mendonça, Susana Bettencourt and Hugo Costa. Hugo Costa, who was on the official calendar of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, gave us his story in this edition of Bloom IN.
